The city of Aurillac is also known for manufacturing beautiful umbrellas. The first factories appeared at the end of the 19th century. Today, 50% of French umbrellas are produced in Aurillac. This really is the French capital of the umbrella. In 1997 a new brand of umbrellas named "Aurillac" came out.
