Several villages have preserved their typically Alsatian aspect in the North of the Bas-Rhin. Houses there are white and half-timbered. Several villages are really worth a visit, such as Hunspach, listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, Hoffen and Seebach. Windows and balconies of the houses are naturally geranium-bedecked. All these villages are very well-preserved.
