The royal bastide town of Tournon-d'Agenais stands on a rocky promontory overlooking the peaceful Agenais countryside. Founded in the 13th century by Raymond VII, Count of Toulouse, it boasts some fine heritage, including Place des Cornières and its old well, a bell tower with a moon clock, the ancient house of the Agen bishops and ramparts.
A viewpoint indicator in the municipal garden gives information about the Boudouyssou valley below.
Foodies mustn't miss the La Foire à la Tourtière every 15 August, a festive event honouring the village speciality: a delicious pie consisting of thin layers of pastry and rum-doused apples!
