Located at an altitude of 2,115 metres, Tourmalet pass is a legendary section of the Tour de France. Cycling fans, hikers and motorists crossing it enjoy beautiful views over the Pyrenees mountains. On the way back down to the resort of Barèges, you can visit Tourmalet botanical garden, open from mid-May to mid-September, where no fewer than 2,500 Pyrenean plant species grow. An excellent introduction to the local flora!
