7500 hectares in size, the Thau lake is the biggest lake of Languedoc. The village of Bouzigues situated next to the lake is specialized in oysters and mussels farming. To find out more about fishing activity and shellfish farming, lead to the Thau lake museum in Bouzigues.

On the edge of this small inland sea is also the spa town of Balaruc-les-Bains, renowned for its waters with healing properties.
