Located on the municipality of Solutré-Pouilly, in the heart of the Mâconnais vineyard, the Solutré rock is a Prehistory mecca listed as one of the main places of interest of France. At the foot of this calcareous escarpment, numerous bones of horses, flints and pieces were discovered. This place was a hunting site during more than 25,000 years. Dedicated to Prehistory and to Solutré art, the Solutré Prehistory museum exhibits collections coming from the excavations carried out on the prehistoric site.
