On the hills of Menton, Sainte-Agnès, listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, is the highest village in Europe overhanging the coast. At the top of the picturesque village are the ruins of the castle. Saint-Agnès also has a fort built between 1932 and 1938, building on the Maginot Line.
