Nestling at the heart of Lomagne, the fortified village of Saint-Clar has the particularity of featuring two squares with arcades: Place de la Mairie, in the middle of which stands a picturesque 13th-century covered market hall, and Place de la République, to the north of which the neo-gothic Church of St. Clair has pride of place.
The tour of the area continues with a look at the castle village, with its old church crowned with a beautiful bell, its old timber-framed houses, and its charming four seasons garden.
Lomagne white garlic, a speciality of Saint-Clar, is celebrated every year at the Thursday morning market (on the stalls from July to December), and at the Garlic Festival and Garlic Contest that take place in August. The House of Garlic, open from June to October and based on a typical farm in the hamlet of Barban, contains an exhibition on the history and culture of garlic.
