• Castle Villemont:

• Villemont Castle is located in the town of Vensat in the north of the Puy de Dome.
• In the early 16th century it was a small area called "House, mound, moat, low short Villemont. It depended County Montpensier then owned by the Constable of Bourbon, and was confiscated by François 1st, who then made payable to Constable price of his treachery. Past due to Michel de Veyny, nephew of Chancellor Duprat, he will remain in the same family (offspring of women) until its sale in 1958, shortly before the fire that will destroy him.
• The first major construction is the work of Michel de Veyny in 1556. Then the building will be considerably enlarged by Gilbert Veyny in 1747 to reach the vast body we know today. A campaign of beautification work will take place in the late 19th century. After its sale in May 1958, an arson on the night of 3 to 4 July of that year will reduce the main building in ruins. The giant common then decay because of their abandonment. Only in 1995 a courageous undertaking restoration began.
