The history of the town of Illiers-Combray remains closely connected to the author of In Search of Lost Time (or Remembrance of Things Past). When he was a child, Marcel Proust used to spend his holidays here, in the house of his uncle and his aunt. Designed by the uncle of Marcel Proust, the romantic Pré Catelan garden is a peaceful place, great for strolling.

Aunt Léonie's house is today a museum proposing to discover reconstituted rooms and recollections of the famous writer.
