Situated in the village of Magny-les-Hameaux in the heart of the Upper Chevreuse Valley Regional Nature Park, the ancient abbey of Port-Royal-des-Champs built in the 13th century and destroyed in the 18th century has kept some remains of its rich past as illustrated by the ruins of the abbey church, the dovecote and the barn.
The Petites Écoles building houses a museum (the Musée National des Granges de Port-Royal) that charts the history of this abbey, which was an important centre of the Jansenist movement, through collections of paintings, engravings and books.
