Boasting a surrounding wall flanked by towers, the Plessis-Macé castle was built in the 12th century and then partially reconstructed in the 15th century, but still has preserved its fortified castle appearance. Medieval fortress, the Plessis-Macé castle is also an elegant leisure residence. Inside the surrounding wall, the defensive architecture is indeed refined with the Renaissance seigneurial lodge and its magnificent carved balcony. The furnished flat - library, main lounge, dining room - and the chapel home to Gothic wooden panelling are open to visitors. In June and July, the Plessis-Macé castle hosts the Anjou festival, an event giving theatre performances. | LOCALISATION IN MAINE-ET-LOIRE | | | |
