Located at the feet of the Montmartre mound, the district of Pigalle is known all over the world for the French Cancan of its famous cabaret, the Moulin Rouge. This mythical place founded in 1889 was immortalised in the works of the painter Toulouse-Lautrec. Still today, the Moulin Rouge continues with the tradition of this dance. The district comes alive in the evening with its nightclubs, its cabarets and its numerous erotic shops.
