Agricultural and market-gardening region, Picardy boasts an important religious heritage. Renowned for its famous Gothic cathedrals, the region offers many other architectural gems, such as its numerous abbeys, notably royal, its churches and its castles. Picardy also offers a variety of different landscapes, ranging from forests, hedged farmland and plains of cereal crops to the marshes used for vegetable farming of Amiens, through the chalk cliffs, sandy beaches and dunes of the Picardy coast.
