The parish close, typical religious architecture of Breton villages, is home to a church, a calvary and an ossuary. This group of buildings is protected by a surrounding wall and accessible through the monumental entrance, which generally appears in the form of a gateway or an arch. Several parish closes are really worth a visit:

   The Pleyben parish close, built from the 15th to the 17th century, with the most important Calvary of Brittany;

   The Guimiliau parish close, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries and richly decorated;

   The Saint-Thégonnec parish close, dating from the 16th and 17th century, which features a large ceremonial entrance arch.
