The region of Nice is renowned for its olive, "la caillette", with an incomparable taste. Small and of green or black colour, the olive of Nice carries the AOC quality label. The growing region extends from the Menton countryside to the Grasse countryside and from the coast up to the inland countryside. The olive of Nice is perfect with an aperitif: whole or in the form of tapenade, a delicious olive paste spread on some bread. A true enjoyment! In olive oil, it will perfectly accompany salads and all Provençal dishes. The oil mill of Opio is famous for for its virgin olive oil.
