As its name suggests, this canal connects Nantes to Brest. Built between 1824 and 1840, this 360-kilometre canal was reserved for trade and especially for transportation of goods. Today, the Nantes-Brest canal is important for river tourism. Boat trips along it reveal beautiful landscapes and medieval towns of character.
