Located in a former 19th-century grain hall at the centre of the old town of L'Isle-Jourdain, the European Museum of Bell Art contains remarkable collections of bells, chimes, sleigh bells and cowbells from all five continents, including the famous chimes of the Bastille, a listed Historic Monument. This wonderful place has six permanent exhibition areas with over a thousand objects, where visitors can discover the various stages of the bell-making process, as well as the history, traditions and practices relating to it.
Not far from the museum, the house of Claude Augé, creator of the illustrated Petit Larousse, is worth a visit for its splendid listed stained glass windows.
