Nesling along the waters of the Creuse river, the charming village of Moutier-d'Ahun is dominated by its Romanesque church. The remains of a former Benedictine monastery, this beautiful building boasts a portal of Flamboyant Gothic style and is home to magnificent Baroque wooden panelling dating from the 17th century. Also of great interest are the altarpiece with twisted columns and 26 carved stalls.
After the visit, nothing like a stroll in the streets of the village, and more especially towards the banks of the Creuse river and the picturesque medieval bridge. From the opposite bank, a magnificent view of the bridge, the church bell tower and the houses of the village awaits visitors.
