Covering 2,500 km², the mounts Cantal are what remains of the biggest volcano in Europe. The highest peak in the area is the Plomb du Cantal, at 1,855 metres. It is the location of the Auvergne's largest ski resort, Super-Lorian, between 1,250 and 1,850 metres altitude.

Also located in the volcanic massif of the mounts Cantal, the Puy Mary reaches a height of 1,787 metres and towers majestically over twelve beautiful glacier valleys. The views are breathtaking!
