The former residence of the Counts of Nevers, the charming village of Moulins-Engilbert, gateway to the Morvan Regional Nature Park, will delight lovers of walking and old buildings, with its pretty floral streets, picturesque old houses, Church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste and the relics of its feudal castle. As well as its built heritage, every Tuesday morning, Moulins-Engilbert hosts an internationally famous Charolais cattle auction market.
A themed house of the Morvan ecomuseum, the House of Livestock Farming and the Charolais, open to the public from Easter to late October, tells the story of agriculture in the Morvan, the development of production methods and the life of farmers since the Old Regime.
