The town of Montrichard, pleasantly located on the edge of the River Cher, is dominated by a medieval square keep dating from the 11th century. The local archaeology, history and traditions are presented in two museums there. The top of the keep offers a beautiful view of the houses in the town and of the Cher Valley. There are old timber-framed brick houses to see in the old town.
In summer, medieval shows telling the history of the town are performed.
