The Morbihan has many megalithic monuments dating from the Neolithic period. The Carnac site, with its thousands of standing stones, is the very symbol of prehistory. The Menec alignment is a stunning example. Again in Carnac, the museum of prehistory has a collection of objects from the megalithic period on display.
Locmariaquer is also an essential place to visit for megaliths such as the broken big menhir (Grand Menhir Brisé), merchants' table dolmen (Table des Marchands) and Er-Grah tumulus.
