The Luberon region is protected by a Regional Nature Park, which extends over 165,000 hectares and covers two départements: the Vaucluse and the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Also designated a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, Luberon possesses a considerable variety of animal and plant species, some of them very rare.
Luberon mountain peaks at the Mourre Nègre, at an altitude of 1,125 metres. The mountain consists of two sections, the large Luberon massif and the small Luberon massif, separated by Combe de Lourmarin valley. A great destination for nature and sports fans.
