Lake Paladru is a beautiful 390-hectare, turquoise-blue glacial lake surrounded by wooded hills. It is a wonderful spot for relaxing or being active with a beach, swimming, pedalo and sailing, as well as lakeside walking and mountain biking.
Shaped during the Ice Age, 500 m above sea level, its 6 km long and 1 km wide and 392 hectares have earned him the fifth largest natural lake in France.
The lake is famous for the archaeological excavations that were undertaken for nearly 30 years in its waters. Indeed, two villages were engulfed searched and found the most beautiful objects are on display at Museum of Lake Paladru in Charavines.
