The main city of the Creuse, the peaceful town of Guéret located on the edge of the Chabrières forest area, boasts a special natural environment.

Surrounded by a pleasant park with rare species, the unmissable Art and Archaeology museum, housed in the old Sénatorerie mansion, is home to remarkable collections of enamels of Limousin, tapestries, ceramics, paintings and objets d'art. A magnificent Gallo-Roman statuary can also be admired there.

Also to be visited in Guéret are Bonnyaud square in the town centre where the blue granite town hall and pretty Trois Grâces fountain are located, the Hôtel des Moneyroux, a beautiful late-Gothic building and the seat of the Conseil Général, not forgetting the pedestrian shopping streets.

Both children and adults can enjoy leisure activities like getting lost in the Mounts Guerét Giant Maze, one of the biggest plant mazes in the world!

The Courtille leisure park with a 20-hectare lake offers a number of activities, such as canoeing, kayaking, sailing, swimming, fishing, pedalos and tennis.
