Encircled by ramparts and moats fed by the waters of the Aa river, the town of Gravelines offers visitors an interesting fortified heritage. Boat and pedalo trips around the ramparts are excellent way of discovering the fortifications modified by Vauban.

Worth a visit: the Drawing and Original Print Museum housed in the former powder magazine of the château-arsenal, which traces the history and techniques of the print.
