Grasse is the world capital of perfume. This industry appeared in the 17th century with the glovers-perfumers who became perfumers in the 18th century.
It is a real microclimate which allows the Grasse countryside to cultivate flowers in great quantities, such as the violet, the jasmine, the rose... The famous Grasse perfume factories, such as Fragonard, Galimard and Molinard, open their doors to discover the world of perfume. The International perfume museum explains the history of perfume and the various stages in creating a new perfume.
The picturesque old town and its 13th-century cathedral are also worth a visit.
