Situated on both sides of the River Nançon, the city of Art and History of Fougères boasts a magnificent architectural heritage. Very charming, the old town offers a wonderful atmosphere to the walkers. First of all, with its feudal castle flanked by towers and ramparts. A remarkable testimony of the medieval time... But also with the Marchix square and its beautiful old timber-framed houses, the romantic walk along the river and its laundry, the pleasant public garden and its magnificent view of the fortress and the medieval district. A delight for the eyes! In front of the castle, the Saint-Sulpice church of late Gothic style contains old granite altarpieces.
