The harbour museum, situated in the former tobaccos store, presents the history of the port of Dunkerque. This place also offers the discovery of three boats: the three-master Duchess-Anne, the barge Guilde and the fireboat Sandettie. After the visit of the museum and a promenade along the quays of the Commerce basin, a boat trip to better discover the port and its various installations is imperative. Besides this harbour heritage, Dunkerque possesses two belfries that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the beffroi of the Saint-Éloi church and the beffroi of the town hall. The Fine art museum hosts painting collections of the Flemish, French, Dutch and Italian schools. On top of these numerous places of interest to discover, relaxation is also possible with the beautiful fine sand beach of Malo-les-Bains, nicknamed "queen of the beaches of the North". Every year in January and February, the famous carnival of Dunkerque livens up and colors the streets of the city.
