The Doubs gorges, situated between Villers-le-Lac and Goumois, near the Swiss border, offer to hikers beautiful landscapes of wild nature.
Not to be missed are the three steel "Ladders of Death" (formerly made of wood, these ladders were used by smugglers!), which let walkers climb up the cliff to a wonderful viewpoint 100 metres above the river. The view over the forest and the rock faces along the River Doubs is stunning.
