The gastronomic speciality from Dijon appeared in the XIVth century, at the time of the dukes of Burgundy. Since then, this mustard became famous all over the world and the naming "Dijon Mustard" guarantees its manufacturing process. The manufacture method consists mainly in crushing mustard seeds, wild mustard seeds, and mixing it in verjuice, a mixture of vinegar, water and salt. Today, only a minor part of seeds results from Burgundy. The rest is imported from abroad and in particular from Canada.

To vary the flavors, Dijon mustard declines in numerous aromas: cognac, blue cheese, walnut... Mustard with the local black currant flavor is famous. Dijon mustard is perfect for serving with dishes and culinary preparations. For those interested, the mustard museum recounts the history of this product and exhibits old posters.
