A magnificent water area particularly for sports and leisure activities: sailing, swimming, water-skiing, jet-skiing, windsurfing, and fishing is possible there. And the 77 kilometres of dedicated banks allow for walking and cycling. Relaxation fans are not forgotten either, since the lake has six beaches great for relaxation. Observation spots line the banks of the lake and offer to nature lovers the possibility of observing the wild fauna and more particularly the migratory birds, notably the common cranes, who stop here from autumn to spring. The panoramic water towers situated in Giffaumont-Champaubert and in Sainte-Marie-du-Lac-Nuisement offer a beautiful view of the lake and its surrounding countryside. The Der Countryside museum in Sainte-Marie-du-Lac-Nuisement, allows discovering several typical timber-framed buildings of wet Champagne region, a presentation of the arts, traditions and former professions of Champagne, as well as a healing plants garden.
