City of Art and History, Concarneau is famous for its substantial fishing port, very active, and its historical monument, the Closed City. Built on a rocky island, this fortified town is an former military area. Its ramparts, dating from the 13th century and restored by Vauban in the 17th century, are equiped with towers. The inside of the fortification, accessible by a small bridge, has pretty narrow streets lined with restaurants and tourist shops. The Fishing museum recounts the history and techniques of maritime fishing.

In August, the Filets Bleus festival is a good moment with music and dances.
