Produced in the Jura, the Doubs and the Ain, Comté is a delicious cheese carrying the AOC quality label. It is a cooked, pressed cheese made from unpasteurised cow's milk. It is matured in cellars for at least 4 months and up to 36 months!
Often open to visitors, the numerous cheese dairies of the Jura in which Comté is made show the various manufacturing stages of this famous cheese.
The Comté House in Poligny offers a museum dedicated to this famous speciality of the Jura.
