80,000 hectares in size, the Cognac vineyards extends over three départements: the Charente, the Charente-Maritime and the Deux-Sèvres.

World-famous, Cognac is a brandy from white grape varieties carrying the AOC quality label. The bounded production region divides into six vineyards: Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois, Bons Bois and Bois Ordinaires. Famous as a digestive, Cognac is also frequently used to perfume dishes and desserts.

To find out more about this gastronomic speciality, the Arts museum of Cognac, housed in the Perrin de Boussac town house in Cognac, details the history and elaboration of Cognac.
