Situated on the Port-Marly hill, the Château de Monte-Cristo is a beautiful 19th-century building of Renaissance style with richly carved facades that was built for the famous writer Alexandre Dumas, author of The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo. Inside the stately home you can discover the world of the writer through documents, paintings and furniture, as well as a magnificent Moorish drawing room decorated with mosaics, wall carvings and stained glass windows.

In front of the Château stands a Neo-Gothic pavilion, nicknamed the "Château d'If" by Dumas, where the writer used to work.

A charming landscaped garden with ponds, waterfalls, grottoes and rockeries is also lovely to wander around.
