The Italian Renaissance-style Château de Ferrières-en-Brie was built from 1853 to 1861 by English architect Joseph Paxton for Baron James de Rothschild. Open to the public from May to the end of September, this wonderful stately home contains a superb furniture collection and a Museum of the Imagination (Musée de l'Imaginaire) with a constantly changing exhibition of fantasy art.

The Château stands in a beautiful landscaped park planted with rare tree species and decorated with water features.
