| ADDITIONAL INFORMATION |
The town of Chassenon houses the remains of one of the most important archaeological sites in the Charente. Located on a plateau surrounded by the Vienna, the ancient Cassinomagus consisted of a town, now buried, and a large sanctuary where they discovered the three temples, theater, aqueduct and baths. The baths were built in the late 1st century AD, with stones from the crash of a meteorite. They have been used for over three centuries, as sanatorium inside the sanctuary. |
