This palace is a former princely residence, and consists of a small castle dating from the 16th century and a big castle built in the 19th century located in Chantilly. It is today possible to visit the apartments of the princes Condé and of the duke Aumale, as well as the Condé museum exhibiting a prestigious collection of old paintings. Outside, a magnificent 115-hectare park invites to a walk, while revealing wonders, such as the Grand Canal, the flowerbeds of the Le Nôtre French garden, the landscape garden, Sylvie's house, and the hamlet. An aerostat, a captive balloon flying over the domain, offers an open view of the castle, the park and the surrounding countryside. |
