Located in the mountains above Grenoble at the summit of the Belledonne range, the ski resort of Chamrousse, famous for having hosted the downhill ski competitions of the 1968 Olympic Games, is split into two levels: Le Recoin (Chamrousse 1650) and La Roche Béranger (Chamrousse 1750). This popular destination with Grenoble inhabitants offers 90 km of downhill runs and 40 km of cross-country ski trails.

In the summer, the resort has numerous outdoor activities available, including hiking, mountain biking, tennis, archery, climbing, horse riding, a tree-top obstacle course, grass sledging, quad biking, fishing and paragliding.
