Carrying the AOC quality label Champagne, the Marne valley, the Reims Mountain, the Côte des Blancs and the Côte des Bar, are the major producing regions of this famous sparkling wine. Three grape varieties are allowed for the production of champagne: the black pinot, the miller pinot and the chardonnay. The cellars of the most important champagne houses are situated in Reims and in Épernay.
