Situated at the foot of Mont Blanc, Chamonix is heaven for climbers. Thanks to its ski areas and numerous ski-lifts, this famous winter and summer sports resort is also a paradise for skiing fans.

In the old town, the former luxury hotel Chamonix Palace houses the Alpine Museum with its exhibition about the development of Chamonix valley and a collection of antique objects.
