Located at the confluence of the Voueize and Tardes rivers, the city of Chambon-sur-Voueize offers a remarkable granite church of the 11th and 12th centuries. Dedicated to Sainte-Valérie, this imposing abbey church is one of the largest of Limousin, and is a magnificent example of Romanesque art, with its superb three-apse chevet and its two bell towers. Inside, wooden panelling, Saint-Valérie's reliquary-bust and paintings can be admired.
After visiting the church, walkers should not miss going to see the charming old bridge on the Voueize river, a listed construction dating from the 14th century.
Another place not to be missed in the surrounding area, the Voueize gorges which offer picturesque green landscapes.
