Built between 1775 and 1832, the Burgundy Canal (Canal de Bourgogne) connects the Saône and Yonne rivers. 242 kilometres in length, the canal comprises 191 locks in total! In Pouilly-en-Auxois, in the Côte-d'Or, the Burgundy Canal passes through an underground passage that's 3,333 metres long to cross the watershed between the Rhône and the Seine rivers.
Crossing beautiful landscapes, the Burgundy canal is a very pleasant waterway for barges.
