This lively city has numerous pedestrian streets all around the heart of the city and the Saint-Martin collegiate church. These streets are lined with beautiful shops. The old town of Brive-la-Gaillarde also has houses from the 15th and 16th centuries, as well as mansions.

The famous market in Brive located in the Georges Brassens covered market hall contains very good local products. Organised four times per year from December to February, the famous duck and goose product fairs (Foires Grasses) bring together many foie gras producers.
