Second marsh in France after the Camargue, the Brière Regional Nature Park covers a 49,000 hectare surface. In the heart of this reserve, the Grande Brière Mottière marsh, which extends over 7,000 hectares, offers series of canals, reeds, wet prairies, peat bogs and islands, among which the Fédrun island. The boat tours offered allow to better discover the fauna and the flora of Brière. From the bell tower of the Saint-Lyphard church, a panoramic view of the marsh and its surroundings! This area is also unusual in that it is dotted with numerous houses with thatched roofs. Brière indeed has not less than 3,000 thatched cottages! | LOCALISATION IN LOIRE-ATLANTIQUE | | | |
