The blackcurrant, a shrub about one metre high, is often situated near vineyards. It is mainly located in the sector going from Hautes Côtes to the plain of Côte de Nuits. The blackcurrant is sought after in numerous fields including healthcare, because of its beneficial effects, and the perfume industry, where the blackcurrant bud is an essential ingredient in some of the most famous fragrances.
