Nore peak at 1210 meters, is the highest point of the Black Mountain, on the border of the departments of Aude and Tarn, near the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut-Languedoc, in the south of France.

Saissac Castle, located at the southern end of the village, overlooking the ravine Vernassonne situation which gives it an important strategic position at the entrance of the Black Mountain.

Villelongue Abbey, built in the 12th century Saint-Martin-le-Old by Cistercian monks, developed in the 14th century after the crusade against the Cathar heresy. It remains to this day a fine example of architecture and sculptures typical of the Languedoc southern gothic of the 12th and 13th centuries.

For nature lovers, the Black Mountain is an area where there is always something to do or see.
