Founded in the 12th century, this former Cistercian abbey, located in the commune of Cordes-Tolosannes by the River Garonne, is today the property of the General Council of Tarn-et-Garonne. The Belleperche Abbey cultural centre houses a museum of the arts of taste and dining, which, through its superb collections of plates, cutlery, utensils, accessories and serving items, tells the story of tableware from the late Middle Ages to the present day. If you're interested in architecture, a tour of the building will reveal relics from the 13th century and constructions from the 18th century, including the cloister, the monks' refectory, the hosts' reception room, the staircase of honour and the grain attic. Finally, you can admire the beautiful view of the surrounding landscapes from the balcony overlooking the Garonne, and take a walk in the park with a stroll along its willow tree-lined path.
